Description
The U.S. Army is seeking information from industry partners to identify potential sources for the production of Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets. The scope of the contract includes production, tooling, engineering change proposals, and supporting activities of GMLRS rockets. The Army is looking for companies that can produce 19,002 GMLRS rocket variants annually, with initial deliveries starting in February 2030.
• The GMLRS provides field artillery units with lethal, precise, surface-to-surface fires against point and area targets.
• The GMLRS Unitary utilizes a 200-pound class payload available in two primary variants.
• The unitary warhead executes precision strikes with minimal collateral damage, while the AW disperses pre-formed penetrators to achieve area effects compliant with current cluster munition policies.
• The ER-GMLRS doubles the system's maximum range while carrying either the unitary or AW payload.
• The USG requests white papers from industry detailing their capability, experience, and technical approach to produce GMLRS rocket variants.
• Respondents should assess the risks and benefits of various production options and recommend contracting strategies that maximize value to the USG while minimizing the contractor's cost risk.
