Continental Blower - Promark Corporation

The County of Hawaii, Department of Water Supply, is seeking to purchase a spare Continental Blower assembly inclusive of Continental Blower model 051.05, 50 HP motor, gearbox, and mounting skid sized to fit the existing setup for the Waimea Water Treatment Plant. The blower units provide pressurized air for an essential part of the treatment plant filtration process. The Department has determined that Promark Corporation is the exclusive distributor of Continental Blowers for Hawaii, and therefore, they are the only vendor who can provide the required goods. Key aspects of the project include: • The spare blower assembly is required to prevent disruption of treatment plant operations in case of a failure of one of the existing blower units. • The blower units have been continuously operating since 2020, and a spare is necessary to ensure uninterrupted service. • The Department has investigated other possible sources but did not find any alternative that meets their needs. • The contract is expected to be for a term of 12 months or less. • The total cost of the contract is $50,000.00.
