Long Reach Fire Station No. 9 Upgraded Fuel Storage & Dispensing System

Howard County is seeking a qualified construction firm to replace the existing underground fuel tanks and associated dispensing equipment at Long Reach Fire Station #9, and to construct a new fuel island with canopy, EV‑charging stations, and supporting civil/electrical infrastructure. The work includes demolition, hazardous‑material removal, installation of two 12 000‑gal double‑wall fiberglass underground tanks, a fuel island with canopy, oil‑water separator, extensive electrical and conduit work, site grading, paving, erosion‑control measures, testing, commissioning, and training of County staff. The contract is a 150‑day construction period with a $500 per day liquidated‑damage clause, requires a 5 % bid bond, full performance and payment bonds, and compliance with living‑wage and environmental regulations. • Remove existing 2,500‑gal USTs, fuel island, and related infrastructure. • Install two new 12,000‑gal double‑wall underground fuel tanks, fuel island, canopy, EV Level 2 & Level 3 chargers, and a 1,000‑gal oil‑water separator. • Provide all civil works (excavation, back‑fill, concrete, paving, drainage) and electrical systems (power, lighting, conduit, grounding) per NFPA 30, 70, 70E and Maryland codes. • Complete testing, commissioning, documentation, and on‑site training; adhere to 150‑day schedule and $500/day liquidated‑damage provision.
