Description
The Mississippi State University is seeking to purchase a sole source data logger and connection module for soil redox and pH measurements. The system includes a 10 Watt solar powered data logger "enviLog Midi" radio transmission, connection module for Redox and pH electrodes, software, and other accessories. The university claims that EcoTech Umwelt-Messsysteme GmbH is the only company that can provide this system, which is required for a current USDA-NRCS project. The estimated cost of the system is $64,993.41.
• The system is solar powered and can continuously measure soil redox potential and pH in agricultural fields.
• The connection module and data logger were developed by EcoTech for operation with redox electrodes.
• The university has performed extensive research and found that EcoTech is the only provider of this system.
• The project aims to recirculate irrigation tailwater in rice production fields and continuously measure soil redox potential and pH across multiple states.
