Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program

The Rural Business-Cooperative Service is accepting applications for the Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program. This program provides grants to agricultural producers and small businesses to purchase, install, and construct renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements. The program aims to help these entities reduce their energy costs and improve their overall energy efficiency. • Eligible applicants include agricultural producers and small businesses • Eligible projects include the purchase, installation, and construction of renewable energy systems, such as solar, wind, and biogas systems, as well as energy efficiency improvements, such as lighting and insulation upgrades • Applications are accepted year-round, with deadlines for complete applications on October 31, 2018, and April 1, 2019, for grants of $20,000 or less and over $20,000, respectively • The program provides grants ranging from $1,500 to $500,000, with a total estimated funding of $35,400,000 • Applicants must demonstrate the technical and financial feasibility of their proposed project, as well as their ability to repay any loan funds
