Description

The Navy is seeking a qualified source to repair and modify 43 units of a specific keyboard (NSN 7R‑5999‑015241653‑H1). The work requires engineering source approval, as the part is flight‑critical and the technical data are not commercially available. Only previously approved sources are being solicited, and any new source must undergo a stringent qualification process documented in NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (WSS) Source Approval Brochures. Proposals must include all required data; incomplete submissions will be excluded from award consideration. This is a notice of intent rather than a competitive solicitation, but the government may consider proposals received within 45 days.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $30,000

Based on the quantity (43 keyboards) and the specialized nature of the repair/modification—including engineering source‑approval work—each unit could realistically command $200–$500 in labor and material costs. Adding engineering and data‑submission effort may increase total contract value. A reasonable ball‑park estimate is therefore between $10 000 and $30 000.
