IFB#: 161180 Measurement While Drilling System

The Virginia Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for a comprehensive Measurement While Drilling (MWD) system to be deployed in the Salem District. The procurement includes multiple lots covering equipment, installation, training, and related accessories for drilling operations. The award will provide the agency with a fully integrated MWD solution, including sensors, data acquisition hardware, software, and support services. • Lot 1: Installation, training, wireless interface box, custom‑built 1 5/8″ Hex Drive TCV sensor, and associated wireless torque‑crowd‑vibration (TCV) threaded‑rod sensor. • Lot 2: Depth sensor & extension cable, down‑pressure sensor, 1.5″ flowmeter & cable, grout pressure sensor, RPM sensor, vibration sensor, plus a complete MWD drilling parameters monitoring system (data recorder, connection box, cable, and reporting software) plus installation and training. • All equipment must meet specified pressure controller, indicator, and recorder standards (CommCode 2440). The contract will be awarded to the vendor who can deliver the system, install it on site, and provide the required training and support.
