Purchase of Qiagen Centrifuge or Equivalent

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking to purchase a Qiagen Centrifuge 4-16S (120V, 60 Hz) with one matching Plate Rotor 2 x 96. The centrifuge is required for high-throughput genomic DNA extraction from tissue samples using Qiagen DNeasy 96 Tissue Kits. The procurement will be conducted on a sole-source basis, with Qiagen LLC being the only brand name that meets the agency's requirements. • The centrifuge must be compatible with the laboratory's existing Qiagen robotic liquid-handling workstation and DNeasy 96-well filter plates/vacuum manifold system. • The deep-well swinging bucket rotor is required to safely spin stacked filter plates and collection plates. • Spin programs must be compatible with Qiagen nucleic acid purification protocols without modification.
