REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) FOR ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING SERVICES

The Chicago Park District is seeking qualified architectural, engineering, and landscape architectural firms or consultants to submit their qualifications for possible inclusion in the Architecture and Engineering Services pre-qualified pool. The pool will consist of five categories of work: Architecture, Civil and Structural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Engineering, and Ecological Restoration Services. Firms can submit their qualifications for one, some, or all of these categories. The selected firms will be expected to provide services such as assisting the CPD in developing construction projects for bid and in assisting the CPD with the construction administration of these projects. The contract term will be five years, with a possible one-year extension option. Some key requirements for the selected firms include: • Having experience necessary for the types and sizes of projects described in the Scope of Work • Being financially solvent and familiar with local, state, and federal codes, legislation, procedures, and regulations • Having professional status, licensed to perform all applicable professional disciplines in the State of Illinois • Being governed by professional ethics in their relationship to the CPD • Having the ability to perform a variety of tasks, including project drawings, accessibility, sustainability, CAD, standards, permits, and site verification • Complying with the Americans with Disability Act and the latest version of the Illinois Accessibility Code • Utilizing "green" or "sustainable" products and practices whenever possible • Producing all drawings for each project on the latest version of AutoCAD • Obtaining all necessary permits for the relevant construction project • Developing construction documents with add or deduct alternates, and clearly identifying these alternates in all cost estimates • Providing MBE/WBE Utilization Reports with each payment request or as requested by the CPD.
