Procurement of Door, Aircraft

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking to procure an Aircraft Door for the MH-60T aircraft. The procurement will be done through a sole source contract with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (SAC), the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The USCG intends to award a firm fixed-price delivery order to SAC for the procurement of the Aircraft Door. The door is required for the initial outfitting for fleet expansion of the MH-60T aircraft and will also support fleet maintenance under the existing Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM). The key features of this procurement include: • The Aircraft Door is a specialized component that requires clear, documented traceability to the OEM. • SAC is the only authorized source to provide this component, as all specifications, manufacturing drawings, data, test equipment, and tooling required for the manufacture of the component are proprietary to them. • The USCG did not purchase rights to the proprietary data required to foster a competitive environment as part of any original provisioning for use on the MH-60T aircraft. • The cost to procure the data would be cost prohibitive. • The procurement will be done through a sole source contract, as there are no other sources capable of providing the required component.
