The work will be carried out at the contractor’s facility in the Puget Sound region and includes transport, docking, hull cleaning, ultrasonic inspection, full marine‑preservation coating, structural welding, tank cleaning and gas‑free certification, electrical and lighting upgrades, piping modifications, and final sea‑trial testing. Budget estimate

$3,000,000 – $8,000,000

The SOW outlines a full‑service dock‑and‑repair availability for a 199‑ft naval barge, including extensive labor, specialty coatings, welding, tank cleaning, system upgrades, and a heavy reporting burden. Comparable Navy ship‑repair contracts for similarly sized vessels typically range from $3 million to $8 million, depending on scope depth, subcontractor usage, and material costs. Therefore a reasonable estimate for this effort is between $3 M and $8 M.
