The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering administrative supplements to existing NIH grants and cooperative agreements. The purpose of these supplements is to provide additional funding to currently funded grants to meet increased costs that are within the scope of the peer-reviewed and approved project, but that were unforeseen when the new or competing renewal application was awarded. Eligible applicants include current recipients of specific types of NIH research grants. The proposed supplement must be to provide for an increase in costs due to unforeseen circumstances, and all additional costs must be within the scope of the peer-reviewed and approved project. • The supplement application must be submitted electronically through the ASSIST system. • The application must include a cover letter, a research plan, a budget, and other supporting documents. • The proposed research must be within the scope of the peer-reviewed and approved project. • The supplement will be awarded for a period of one year, and the award will be made as an administrative supplement to the parent grant.
