The Department of State Police K9 Unit is seeking vendors to provide occasional boarding for state police canines. The contractor will be required to provide a safe and healthy environment for the dogs, with adequate food, water, and veterinary care. The contractor must also be willing to feed State Police provided food for certain animals with special diets. The contract is expected to last for up to 6 years, with a rolling enrollment process. The estimated value of the contract is $140,000 per year. • The contractor must be licensed under MGL c140 and have a minimum of 5 years of kennel management experience. • The contractor must provide indoor and outdoor runs with sufficient exercise area for 100lb+ German Shepherd. • The contractor must provide adequate heating in the winter and fresh air fan cooling in the summer. • The contractor must have liability insurance and be willing to cooperate with the MSP in the defense of any litigation. • The contractor must comply with all state, county, and local laws and regulations.
