Description
The City of Providence is seeking proposals to create a list of hotels or motels able to provide temporary relocation services for the Lead Safe Providence Program while lead remediation work is being completed. The selected vendor(s) will provide lodging accommodations for relocated tenants of housing units receiving lead hazard reduction remediation services. Services are desired on an on-call basis and are anticipated to be for a 4-year period. The City reserves the right to award to one vendor, one or more vendors, award no contract, and/or to re-release this RFP as it deems in the best interest of the City of Providence.
• The Department of Housing and Human Services provides funds to property owners to make their properties lead-safe.
• While remediation work is underway, the units must be temporarily vacated by the occupants to ensure occupant safety.
• Program funding allows for temporary accommodations for these occupants, and staff will coordinate with the selected vendor or vendor(s) to arrange the accommodations, which typically range from three days to ten days depending on the complexity of the project.
• The City of Providence’s Department of Housing and Human Services shall pay directly through a purchase order for all pre-authorized stays.
• Hotels shall submit room charges directly to the Department of Housing & Human Services staff (but must limit incidental charges for the room unless the guests provide a credit card at check-in for such unauthorized fees).
• The City of Providence is a tax-exempt organization and will provide a tax-exempt form.
• The City may request information regarding the number of ADA rooms available, hotel amenities, and pricing.
