Travel Information Center and Gift Shop Operations

The Kansas Department of Commerce is seeking a contractor to operate the Travel Information Center and Gift Shop at Belle Plaine. The contractor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the center, including retail sales, customer service, and maintenance. The gift shop will feature Kansas-made and Kansas-themed products, and the contractor will be required to purchase inventory that meets the state's standards for authenticity and quality. The contract will be for a period of 24 months, with the option to renew for three additional 12-month periods. • The contractor will be responsible for maintaining retail sales and inventory data and reporting this data monthly to the state. • The contractor will be required to conduct a physical inventory of all gift shop products twice annually. • The contractor will be responsible for implementing a plan for staffing, janitorial services, and gift shop management. • The contractor will be required to have experience in retail sales, customer service, and inventory management.
