Town of Pawleys Island Historic Preservation Guidelines Review and Training

The Town of Pawleys Island is seeking a qualified consulting firm to finalize, implement, and train staff on newly developed historic architectural guidelines that will underpin its freshly created Historic Preservation Program. The consultant will also provide direct support to the newly constituted Historic Preservation Board during its early operational months, ensuring that all activities align with the standards set by the South Carolina State Historic Preservation Office. This effort is partially funded by federal National Park Service monies and administered through the South Carolina Department of Archives and History. • Finalize and polish the town’s historic preservation guidelines. • Develop and deliver training sessions for staff and board members. • Provide ongoing advisory services to ensure compliance with state historic preservation standards. • Coordinate with federal and state historic preservation agencies as required. • Deliver documentation and recommendations for long‑term program sustainability.
