Transformative Climate Communities Round 6 IMPLEMENTATION Grant (FY 25-26)

The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program invests in community-led climate resilience projects in the state’s most overburdened communities. The program objectives are to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve public health and the environment, and support economic opportunity and shared prosperity. TCC’s unique, place-based strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions is designed to catalyze collective impact through a combination of community-driven climate projects in a single neighborhood. Implementation project examples include, but are not limited to: equitable housing and neighborhood development, land acquisition for neighborhood stabilization, transit access and mobility, solar installation and energy efficiency, water efficiency and resiliency, recycling, composting, and waste reduction, health equity and well-being, indoor air quality, community microgrids, brownfield redevelopment, and community resilience centers. • Eligible applicants include California Native American Tribes, Tribally-owned nonprofits, IRC 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, public agencies, local agencies, special districts, joint powers authorities, public utilities, local publicly owned utilities, or mutual water companies. • Project Areas must be designated as disadvantaged communities per the TCC Guidelines. • Applicants who qualify for the Disadvantaged Unincorporated Community Funding Goal must leverage additional funding sources that equal a minimum of 25% of the total requested grant funds. • Approximately $82.5 million is available for three Implementation Grant awards of up to $27.5 million each.
