Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Telecommunication and Wireless Services for AKARNG - GCI Communications

The US Army intends to award a sole-source contract to GCI Communications for telecommunication services, including voice, internet, and video services, as well as business support. The contract will have a base period of 8 months and two option periods of 12 months each. The services are required to support the Alaska Army National Guard (AKARNG) and will include analog lines, internet, and wireless telephone services. The contract will be a firm-fixed-price contract. The justification for the sole-source award is that only one vendor, GCI Communications, possesses the existing infrastructure and capability to provide the required scope of services in the rural location of the place of performance. * The contract will include a full suite of telecommunications and data services * The services will be provided to support the AKARNG personnel and operations * The contract will have a total estimated value of $1,794,506.77 * The services are critical for fire and security alarms, emergency elevator phones, and emergency call boxes * The internet services will be used by statewide AKARNG personnel to connect to the network daily
