Description

The United States Army Contracting Command – New Jersey (ACC-NJ) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of providing hardware and engineering services to support the evaluation of propelling charges and primers for the 155mm 52-caliber howitzer Mobile Tactical Cannon. The survey seeks information on vendors' propulsion solutions, including their technology readiness level, manufacturing readiness level, and ability to provide modeling and simulation services. The vendors should be able to provide a description of their propulsion solution, including case formulation and geometry, propellant formulation and geometry, ignitor formulation, and wear reducer. The survey also seeks information on the vendors' experience with cannon-ammunition design and compatibility efforts, as well as their ability to provide live-fire engineering services. • The market survey is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an obligation on the part of the United States Government. • All information provided will not be returned and will be held in confidential status. • The survey seeks information on vendors' ability to provide modeling and simulation services, as well as live-fire engineering services. • The vendors should be able to provide a description of their lead-time estimates for delivery of hardware and availability of personnel to support testing and engineering service activities. • The survey also seeks information on the vendors' existing capability to produce supercharge quantities or similar propelling charge technologies.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not specify a particular amount. However, based on the complexity of the project and the requirements for the vendors, it is likely that the budget will be substantial. The vendors will need to provide a significant amount of engineering services, including modeling and simulation, as well as live-fire testing, which will require a large team of experts and a significant amount of resources. Additionally, the vendors will need to provide hardware, including propelling charges and primers, which will also require a significant investment. The budget is likely to be in the range of $1 million to $10 million, depending on the scope of the project and the number of vendors selected. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the project, the number of vendors selected, and the scope of the work required.
