Insurance Receivership Counsel

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking legal services to represent the R&Q Reinsurance Company Receivership Estate in general liquidation matters, litigation, and collection matters. The selected law firm will provide legal services and perform all tasks necessary to successfully represent the Statutory Liquidator in the R&Q Reinsurance Company receivership. The engagement may include other general work as designated by the Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department or the Governor’s Office of General Counsel. Key responsibilities include collection and/or protection of estate assets, representation in matters relating to resolution of claims against the estate, and representation in reinsurance matters. The contract will be for a term of one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years. • The law firm will provide legal services to represent the Statutory Liquidator in the R&Q Reinsurance Company receivership. • The law firm will perform all tasks necessary to successfully represent the Statutory Liquidator, including collection and/or protection of estate assets and representation in matters relating to resolution of claims against the estate. • The law firm will provide representation in reinsurance matters, including commutations, collections, and arbitrations. • The law firm will provide representation in Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and in litigation against third parties, including professional service providers. • The law firm will provide representation in general liquidation matters, including all tasks necessary to effectuate closure of the estate.
