Furnishing and Delivery of Four (4) Each Automated Side Loading Refuse Trucks (Lease)

The County of Kauai is seeking bids for the furnishing and delivery of four automated side loading refuse trucks. The trucks must meet specific minimum specifications, including a 50,000 lb GVWR truck cab and chassis with a 22 cubic yard capacity automated side loading refuse body. The contractor shall provide a factory-trained instructor to conduct training sessions for County mechanical maintenance personnel and operating personnel. The contract term shall commence on the date noted on the Notice to Proceed, and the delivery time requirements for each item are listed as 300 days. • The trucks must be new, 2026 or current production model, similar in size, capability, capacity, and general quality to the Peterbilt 520 COE or Autocar ACX 42R or pre-approved equal. • The trucks must have a diesel-powered, turbo-charged, 2026 Emission Certified engine, with a minimum of 370 H.P. and 1250 ft. lbs. torque at governed RPM. • The trucks must have an Allison Automatic 4500 RDS-P or equal transmission, with a manufacturer's integral output retarder and PTO. • The contractor must provide a spare mechanical loading and lifting device assembly, complete with lockout bracket to prevent articulation, and all necessary hydraulic hoses for this device. • The contractor must provide proof of a dealer or franchise agreement from the chassis and refuse body manufacturers, designating the contractor as their sales, service, and parts dealer for the State of Hawaii.
