The USAID BAA for Sustainable Development in Sub-Saharan Africa

This Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) seeks innovative applied research to address development challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) invites interested parties to participate in co-creating, co-designing, co-investing, and collaborating in research, development, piloting, testing, and scaling of interventions. The BAA focuses on various issues, including economic growth, health, education, trade, agriculture, resilience, water, climate change, biodiversity, conflict, peace-building, governance, and gender. • The BAA is open to all U.S. and non-U.S. organizations, businesses, institutions, individuals, and groups. • USAID will issue periodic addenda to this BAA, seeking sustainable solutions, scalability opportunities, feasibility studies, and other research and development initiatives. • The terms of this BAA apply to each addendum, and each individual addendum may have specific instructions, requirements for evaluation criteria, and administrative information. • The BAA aims to incorporate new ideas that will directly and positively influence USAID's programs and policies.
