Description

The District is seeking a comprehensive, point‑to‑point lit‑fiber wide‑area network that connects each school or site directly to its central data centers. The baseline bandwidth must be 10 Gbps per link, with the ability to upgrade to 40 Gbps as demand grows. The architecture must be self‑healing and fault‑isolated so that an outage at any single site does not affect the rest of the network. Bidders must submit a signed addendum together with a full proposal via the NPS Sourcing portal by 12:00 p.m. EST on 4 February 2026; no extensions are permitted. • Provide dedicated 10 Gbps lit‑fiber point‑to‑point connections for every school/site, scalable to 40 Gbps. • Design a resilient, self‑healing WAN that automatically reroutes traffic and isolates failures. • Deliver all required documentation, signatures, and the signed addendum through the NPS Sourcing electronic portal by the hard deadline.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $20,000,000

The district‑wide fiber network will likely involve dozens (or potentially over a hundred) of school sites, each requiring a dedicated 10 Gbps link plus associated engineering, equipment, and ongoing maintenance. Based on comparable K‑12 district fiber deployments, contract values typically range from a few million dollars for smaller districts up to $20‑30 million for larger, multi‑site districts. Assuming a medium‑size district with 30‑50 schools, a reasonable estimate would be $5 million to $20 million, depending on the final scope, equipment choices, and service‑level agreements.
