SCRAP METAL AGREEMENT

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport is seeking a qualified scrap metal vendor to purchase recyclable materials from the center's Recycling Program. The contractor will be responsible for picking up the materials, providing containers, and paying the government based on the weight and type of materials collected. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to extend for up to four additional years. The government reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time. Key considerations for the contractor include: • Providing a fixed net price per gross ton based on a percentage of the Fastmarkets price index for the Boston location • Picking up materials within two working days of notification • Providing containers and equipment for the accumulation and transportation of materials • Complying with all local, state, and federal regulations • Maintaining adequate insurance coverage • Cooperating with the government to resolve any disputes or issues that may arise during the contract period The government will evaluate proposals based on two factors: past performance and price. The contractor must demonstrate a record of relevant past performance and provide a competitive price for the materials.
