Request for Proposals (RFP) for Professional Design Services - Soquel Drive Multimodal Project

The County of Santa Cruz is seeking a qualified consultant to provide professional design and engineering services for the Soquel Drive Multimodal Project. The project aims to implement multimodal transportation improvements along the Soquel Drive corridor, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle safety, accessibility, and connectivity while improving overall travel operations. The scope of work includes preliminary engineering, right-of-way services, and final design plans, specifications, and estimates. The consultant will be required to perform data collection, topographic mapping, and environmental permitting, as well as provide design support during construction and post-construction services. • The project will improve approximately 2.4 miles of Soquel Drive between State Park Drive and Freedom Boulevard. • The project includes improvements such as bicycle and pedestrian facilities, traffic operations, roadway and drainage, and retaining and aesthetic treatments. • The consultant will be required to coordinate with project stakeholders, including the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission and utility owners. • The project has a tentative schedule, with a distribute RFP date of August 10, 2026, and a submittal deadline of September 9, 2026. • The county reserves the right to amend the RFP by addendum before the closing date.
