The Poughkeepsie City School District is seeking a law firm to act as chief legal counsel for a six‑month term, providing comprehensive services that span employment and labor law, special‑education matters, board governance, municipal and construction law, training, and insurance coordination. The firm must be able to offer telephone support during normal business hours, maintain a weekly on‑site presence, and attend at least two Board meetings per month, often in the evenings. A flat annual retainer fee and a detailed standard fee schedule must be proposed, with no additional charges for routine incidentals. • Provide representation before PERB, EEOC, state/federal courts, and other agencies. • Handle special‑education compliance, student discipline hearings, and board legal advisory duties. • Deliver training on sexual‑harassment, ADA, FMLA, and related topics; prepare filings and represent the District in all legal actions.
