Wailua & Lihue WWTP Drying Bed Repairs

The County of Kauai is soliciting bids for comprehensive repairs and upgrades to the drying beds at the Wailua and Lihue Wastewater Treatment Plants. The scope includes mobilization, installation and removal of temporary Best Management Practices (BMPs), extensive trench excavation and backfill, replacement of cast‑iron valves and fittings, concrete wall height increases, crack and spall repairs, demolition and reconstruction of concrete walls and redwood stop‑gates, and associated site‑work such as erosion and sediment control. All work must comply with state licensing requirements, traffic control standards, and environmental protection guidelines. The contract will be awarded to a Hawaii State Contractor’s License “A” holder and will require a bid bond. • Mobilization and site set‑up (LS) • Installation/maintenance of temporary BMPs (LS) • Trench excavation – 110 CY • Removal/installation of cast‑iron valve assemblies (LS) • Concrete wall height increase (~8 in.) and crack/spall repairs (LF/Sy) • Demolition & reconstruction of concrete walls & redwood stop‑gates (ea) • Erosion & sediment control planning and implementation • All work to be performed under the direction of the County Public Works Department and must meet Hawai‘i environmental and traffic regulations.
