The engines must meet specific requirements, including being the same as the original equipment to prevent damage to engine systems. The contractor must provide a unique item identifier for the delivered items. The government will evaluate quotes based on technical factors, including delivery date, price, and past performance. The contract will be a firm, fixed price contract, and the contractor will be responsible for all costs and resulting profit or loss. • The contractor must deliver the engines to the specified location in Japan. • The contractor must provide a performance test (dyno) data sheet and engine specification prior to shipment. • The contractor must comply with the terms and conditions of the contract, including the unique item identification and valuation clause. • The contractor must provide a quote that includes all costs, including transportation and packaging. • The government reserves the right to make a single award to the quoter whose quote is considered in the best interest of the government.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $150,000

The budget for this contract can be estimated based on the type and quantity of engines being purchased. The MTU Detroit Diesel 3-71 and 4-71 engines are high-performance engines used in marine applications. The cost of these engines can range from $10,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the specifications and features. Since the solicitation is for a firm, fixed price contract, the total budget will depend on the quoted price of the engines and the number of engines being purchased. Assuming an average cost of $20,000 per engine and a total of 3 engines being purchased (based on the line items in the solicitation), the total budget could be around $60,000. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the quoted prices and the number of engines being purchased.
