R602--VISN 12 (WI, IL, MI) Reference Lab Courier Services

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide reference lab courier services for VISN 12, which covers Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. The contractor will be responsible for transporting laboratory specimens, pharmaceuticals, and supplies between various VA facilities. The contract will have a base period of approximately 6 months, with options to extend. The contractor must provide firm-fixed pricing for all line items listed in the price schedule for the base period and all option periods. Key requirements include: * Providing vehicles, coolers, freezers, incubators, extension cords, hand trucks, temperature monitoring systems, and a location tracking system * Maintaining equipment and supplies to ensure the integrity of laboratory specimens and pharmaceuticals * Complying with all applicable regulations and guidelines for the transportation of hazardous materials * Providing continuous temperature data logging and storing data electronically for a minimum of two years * Using a location tracking system to monitor the exact geographic location of transported items from pickup to delivery * Providing proof of delivery and maintaining a chain-of-custody record.
