Request for Information (RFI): Special Mission Vessel (SMV) – Helicopter, Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) & Small Craft Support Vessel

The U.S. Navy is conducting market research to identify potential industry sources capable of providing a multi-mission vessel optimized for maritime security. The vessel should have a length of approximately 300-400 feet, be capable of sustaining independent operations, and have a speed of at least 10 knots. It should also have the capability to launch and recover helicopters and unmanned aerial systems, as well as handle small boats and watercraft. The vessel should have a command and control space, modular compartment architecture, and berthing for up to 59 personnel. The Navy is soliciting capability statements from interested parties, including information on their experience, technical approach, and rough order of magnitude timelines for design and construction. • The vessel should meet or exceed the specified technical requirements, including hull and dimensions, regulatory and classification society, seakeeping and performance, aviation/UAS capabilities, small boat and watercraft handling, and fuel storage and delivery. • The vessel should be capable of receiving and storing various grades of fuel for propulsion, ships' auxiliaries, and delivery to small boats and craft. • The vessel should have a towing and mooring capability, as well as a modular compartment architecture designed for rapid reconfiguration and modernization. • The vessel should have berthing and accommodations for up to 59 personnel, including civilian mariners and embarked crew members. • The vessel should have storage space for equipment, supplies, and ammunition.
