Lakewood Board of Education is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive student transportation services for the 2026‑2027 school year. The contract covers daily bus service for all public‑ and private‑school students, school personnel, and approved chaperones across multiple routes, with requirements for specific vehicle types, safety equipment, driver qualifications, insurance, and extensive reporting. The award will be based on sealed‑bid submissions, with a bid guarantee of 5 % of the estimated annual contract value (capped at $50,000) and a performance bond equal to the annual contract amount. • Provide yellow school buses (model ≥ 2017) or wheelchair‑lift buses (≥ 2015) equipped with radios, GPS, video/audio recording, child‑alert and restraint systems. • Employ drivers with NJ CDL (Passenger & School Bus endorsements) who pass background, child‑abuse, TB, and other statutory checks. • Submit extensive documentation (insurance, affirmative‑action, political‑contribution, ownership disclosures, etc.) prior to contract execution, and maintain ongoing compliance through monthly invoicing, accident reporting, vehicle inspections, and penalties for non‑performance.
