Mallard Connector Main

The City of Charlotte is seeking a contractor to upgrade the Mallard water system by increasing hydraulic capacity and improving emergency flow capability. The project will replace or modify existing infrastructure to better balance water delivery between the Mallard Tank and Huntersville Tank, eliminating the need for throttling at Huntersville and reducing energy consumption. The work includes installation of new pipe sections, pressure relief valves, and associated civil works, with required bonding and insurance coverage. • Increase hydraulic capacity of Mallard Tank to match Huntersville Tank. • Install new high‑capacity pipe (from 978 to 882) and a pressure relief valve for emergency scenarios. • Provide all required bonds (bid, performance, payment) and maintain specified insurance (auto, general liability, workers’ comp, construction bonds).
