Description

The City of Omaha is seeking bids for the supply of liquid polymer for sludge dewatering at the Papio Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility. The selected supplier will be required to provide approximately 62,500 gallons of liquid polymer, with the option for the contract to be extended for up to four additional one-year periods. The polymer must meet certain minimum requirements, including a cake solids content of greater than 20% and a sludge cake dewatering rate of greater than 8,000 lbs/hr. The bid award will be based on the lowest bid, and the selected supplier will be required to conduct a field performance test to ensure that their product meets the City's specifications. • The contract will be for a period of one calendar year from the date of award. • The City reserves the right to cancel the contract if the supplier fails to meet the specifications or if the City modifies or updates the polymer delivery systems. • The supplier will be responsible for the personal safety of their employees during shipment and unloading, and must comply with all federal and state regulations concerning the transport of chemicals. • The supplier will be required to provide a certified analysis of the product delivered with each invoice.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Based on the quantity of liquid polymer required (approximately 62,500 gallons) and the fact that the contract will be for a period of one calendar year, it is estimated that the total value of the contract will be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the cost of the liquid polymer will be in the range of $3 to $8 per gallon, which is a rough estimate based on industry standards. The actual budget will depend on the bid price and the terms of the contract.
