Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Stranded Cetacean Testing

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to solicit and award a purchase order on a sole source basis to the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine, Zoological Pathology Program. The tasks include diagnostic testing for viral, bacterial, fungal, protozoal, and biotoxin, histological evaluations, routine processing, and laboratory services for stranded cetacean cases. • The University of Illinois is the only vendor NOAA is aware of that provides cetacean Brucella specific ST typing assay and an in situ hybridization assay for Brucella in marine mammals. • The period of performance is anticipated to be for a 12-month base period and two 12-month options. • Firms that believe they can fully meet the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation or a request for additional information in writing to the identified point of contact.
