Theater Lighting Designer

The Community College of Rhode Island is seeking qualified theatrical lighting designers to provide design, programming, and supervision services for its theatre, music‑theatre, and opera productions. Designers will work on a per‑project basis, creating lighting plots, cue sheets, and supervising student technicians, while collaborating closely with directors and production staff. This Continuous Recruitment allows CCR RI to build a qualified‑provider list for up to five years, though placement on the list does not guarantee work. • Design and develop complete lighting packages (plots, schedules, cue synopses) for each production, delivering preliminary work within the first week and final documentation within the second week of the design period. • Supervise lighting hang, focus, and programming on the college’s console; lead technical rehearsals, provide mentorship to student crew, and make adjustments during rehearsals and previews. • Submit a Letter of Interest and Statement of Qualifications (including résumé, cost proposal, references, W‑9, and contractor questionnaire) by June 30 2026 10:00 AM via email or mail.
