Description
The Newark Board of Education seeks a qualified telecommunications provider to design, install, and manage a district‑wide lit‑fiber wide area network serving up to 78 schools and administrative buildings. The vendor must deliver point‑to‑point fiber links with a minimum capacity of 10 Gbps (expandable to 40 Gbps), provide 99.99 % availability, own and maintain all equipment, and ensure the network is fully operational by July 1 2026. The contract runs for three years with two optional one‑year renewals, and funding is expected to be sourced through E‑Rate discounts, requiring full compliance with related documentation.
• Provide dual hub architecture with point‑to‑point links to each site, ensuring resiliency and no shared‑link outage risk.
• Supply, install, terminate, and integrate all fiber‑terminating electronics; maintain real‑time monitoring, 1‑hour telephone response, and 4‑hour on‑site dispatch.
• Deliver detailed network diagrams, monthly recurring charge schedules (tiered 10‑40 Gbps), and all required E‑Rate forms (SPIN, FCCRN, Form 473).
• Meet strict performance guarantees (99.99 % availability and packet‑delivery reliability) and absorb risk for meeting the July 1 2026 activation deadline.
