Description

The Work of this Contract includes the installation of an Electronic Security System at two key locations: Jay Street Station, which includes coverage for the Fulton Street line and Broad Street line, as well as the 207 Street Station. As part of the scope, the work begins with the removal of existing devices currently in place at these stations. Following this, new conduits and wiring are to be installed throughout the station at both locations. The project also includes the installation of new devices, such as CCTV cameras, to enhance surveillance capabilities at each station. Once the devices are in place, comprehensive testing and commissioning activities will be conducted to ensure that all systems are functioning properly and meet required standards. In addition to the electronic security work, the scope encompasses architectural tasks. These include repairs and patchwork to existing structures as needed, and the installation of new doors at specified locations within the stations. Special Instructions: This contract includes the opportunity to receive an Enhanced Utilization Credit, which is designed to incentivize the use of MWBE firms that have had limited or no opportunity to engage in contracting with the MTA. The Enhanced Utilization Credit Initiative (EUCI), offered by the MTA in partnership with Empire State Development, allows an additional fifty percent (50%) credit toward the utilization of EUCI-eligible firms for this Contract. A list of EUCI-eligible firms is available at https://esd.ny.gov/certification-plus-vendors. For additional information on this program, see Article 18.17 of the General Provisions clause and Paragraph 17 of the Information for Bidders and you can also visit https://www.mta.info/doing-business-with-us/opportunities-for-hubs/euci. Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $10,000,000

Based on comparable MTA security‑upgrade contracts for multiple subway stations, the total contract value is likely in the mid‑single‑digit millions. The scope (removal of legacy equipment, new conduit, wiring, CCTV hardware, architectural repairs, testing, and commissioning) across two major stations typically ranges from $5 M to $10 M, depending on material specifications, labor rates, and MWBE credit incentives.
