Description
The Alabama Supercomputer Authority (ASA) is soliciting proposals to provide comprehensive network transport services for the Alabama Regional Education Network (AREN). The contract covers three service categories—Member Hub Transport, Member Hub Failover Transport, and WAN Transport—across hundreds of public‑library and K‑12 school sites throughout Alabama. Offerors must submit fixed pricing for each location, meet strict latency (≤ 30 ms) and availability (≥ 99.95 %) requirements, and complete installation at least 60 days before the contract start date (July 1 2027). The solicitation is open for bidding, with a pre‑proposal conference, a question deadline, and a final submission deadline in August 2026.
• Provide end‑to‑end Ethernet, DWDM, or dark‑fiber circuits linking each Member Hub to AREN service platform nodes, with separate primary and failover paths.
• Deliver WAN transport from individual school/library sites to their designated Member Hub (or directly to an AREN node when a hub link is infeasible).
• Commit to a two‑year base period (July 2027 – June 2029) with possible extensions, adhering to E‑Rate funding rules, SPIN/FCCRN registration, and monthly invoicing.
