Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) Household Travel Survey

The Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) is seeking a consultant to conduct a regional household travel survey and prepare the results for integration into the regional Travel Demand Model. The survey will provide essential data for accurate updates to WAMPO's four-step, TransCAD-based Travel Demand Model. The last WAMPO HTS was completed in 2011, and relatively recent HTS data are necessary to have a reliable TDM and accurately represent and forecast how people use the transportation system. • The survey will provide data on household travel behaviors, including trips made by respondents over the course of one or more days. • The survey will use sophisticated instruments, such as smartphone applications that use GPS to track trips. • The results will be used to produce enhancements to the sophistication of the region's TDM. • The consultant will be responsible for conducting the survey, analyzing the data, and preparing the results for integration into the regional Travel Demand Model.
