Description

The Central Arkansas Water (CAW) is seeking bids for the fabrication and supply of six stainless steel intake strainers for installation in the existing intake structure. The project includes the fabrication and supply of six stainless steel intake strainers, each 9 feet in height, with a bottom stainless steel mounting ring compatible with the existing bolt pattern in the intake structure. The bidder must provide all materials, labor, fabrication, welding, finishing, packaging, and delivery required to provide complete strainers ready for installation. • The strainers must be made of 1/2-inch half-round stainless steel bars running the full length of each strainer. • The half-round bars must be oriented with the flat side facing outward and the curved side facing inward toward the inside of the ring. • A 1/2-inch gap must be maintained between bars for spacing. • The bars must pass through three evenly spaced retainer rings as shown in the attached drawing. • All bars must be welded at each retainer ring, at the bottom ring, and at the top plate. • A lifting plate must be welded to the center of the top plate as shown in the drawing detail. • All stainless-steel components must be new, unused, and free from defects. The bidder must also identify the proposed stainless-steel grade, fabrication method, welding process, finish, and any assumptions or deviations from the attached drawing.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the complexity of the fabrication and the materials required. Considering the need for six stainless steel intake strainers, each 9 feet in height, with specific requirements for welding and finishing, the total cost could range from $50,000 to $200,000. This estimate takes into account the cost of materials, labor, and potential overheads. However, the actual budget could vary based on the bidder's quotes and the specifics of their proposals.
