Wainee Wildfire Risk Reduction Project - Relocate and Re-Grade the Wainee Cane Haul Road Berm

The County of Maui, via the Maui Emergency Management Agency, is seeking a qualified contractor to relocate and re‑grade an existing fire‑mitigation berm along the Wainee Cane Haul Road in Lahaina. The work involves earthmoving, grading, vegetation clearing, debris removal, and site restoration over approximately 5 acres (2,200 ft × 100 ft) across 33 tax map parcels. The contractor must provide heavy equipment (e.g., 30‑ton excavator, D6‑class dozer), handle large boulders, maintain fire‑suppression capability, and coordinate with an on‑site archaeologist. Access is via an unimproved dirt road; a private easement road must not be disturbed.
