The Dalles Sluiceway Intake Gate Custom Built Moter, Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to negotiate and award a sole-source contract to purchase replacement electric motors/brakes for the east fish ladder at The Dalles Lock and Dam. The current motors are original from the 1950s and are no longer serviceable. The replacement motors need to be custom-manufactured to fit in the current space used by the OEM motors. The contractor will be required to custom manufacture these motors to exact specifications needed to match the OEM motors that are no longer produced.
