Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to Safety-Kleen

The US Air Force intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. for the procurement of Safety Kleen service to existing MIL-PRF-680 Type II Solvent Vats located in Aircraft Maintenance areas. The contract includes cleaning the vats, removing the old solvent and replacing it with fresh, recycled solvent. Safety Kleen will perform this service at regularly scheduled intervals, transporting and recycling all waste solvents in accordance with federal and state regulations. • The contract is for a one year base period. • The estimated contract cost is $68,000. • The service is highly specialized and requires the ability to recycle solvents, which Safety Kleen possesses. • The contract is being awarded on a sole source basis due to the lack of other vendors in the locality that can provide this service.
