Description

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is seeking to sole-source the purchase of OIL1100 ISOSOLV LOW VOC Wipe Solvent from Ecolink, Inc. The solvent is used on the Currency Over Printing Equipment (COPE) presses for automatic and manual cleaning. The BEP requires a solvent that meets the lower Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) requirements of the District of Columbia while offering the best performance on the COPE press equipment without impacting banknote quality and safety of BEP employees. • The BEP has a legal obligation to comply with environmental regulations issued by the District of Columbia. • The solvent must remain below the acceptable rate 70% VOC level or have low vapor to be in compliance with the District Department of Environment (DDOE) regulations. • The BEP intends to sole-source this requirement and award to Ecolink Inc. • The applicable North American Classification Code (NAICS) is 325199, All Other Basic Organic Chemical Manufacturing.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $50,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be moderate, given that it involves the purchase of a specific solvent for use on the COPE presses. The exact amount is not specified in the document, but it can be estimated based on the type and quantity of the solvent required. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of the solvent, the frequency of purchase, and the duration of the contract. A rough estimate for the budget could be between $10,000 and $50,000, considering the solvent is used for cleaning purposes and the BEP's requirement for a low VOC solvent.
