Description
Green Dot Public Schools is soliciting proposals to upgrade and maintain its K‑12 network infrastructure across 18 middle‑ and high‑school sites in Los Angeles County. The contract covers three primary commodity groups – a high‑density Cisco LAN solution, Palo Alto firewall hardware and licensing, and a managed Fortinet firewall service – with a 36‑month base term (possible two one‑year extensions) and a separate five‑year recurring service for the managed firewall. The award will be heavily weighted toward the E‑Rate‑eligible price, but technical qualifications, certifications, and prior experience with school districts are also critical. Key points:
• Core LAN upgrade: Cisco C9500, C9300 switches, SmartNet support, and associated power, line‑card, and transceiver components.
• Firewall options: Palo Alto PA‑3420 (hardware, support, and Secure Internet Edge licenses) plus migration services; alternatively a managed Fortinet firewall service (MIBS) with a 5‑year term.
• E‑Rate compliance required – separate eligible/ineligible costs, SPIN/FRN registration, bulk upload within one week of award.
• Mandatory certifications (Cisco CCNP/CCNA, Palo Alto PNSP/PNSA, Fortinet NSE 3/4), insurance, background/TB clearances, and references from other school districts.
