Intent to Sole Source-Medical Physicist Services-Rosebud IHS Hospital

The Indian Health Service (IHS) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source purchase order to Radiation Physics Consultants, Inc. for Medical Physicist services at the Rosebud IHS Hospital. The contractor will provide Medical Physicist services to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, accreditation requirements, radiation safety standards, and quality assurance programs for diagnostic imaging equipment and procedures. The scope of services includes conducting "Optimizing Patient Dose" and "Staff Exposures" activities, providing consultation to assure an optimized balance between image quality and patient dose, and evaluating patient dose/Entrance Skin Exposure. The contractor will also conduct "Device Performance" and "Quality Control Measures" activities, including acceptance testing, annual device performance monitoring, and performance checks after replacement or repair of major components. • The contractor will provide Medical Physicist services for a period of 12 months. • The contractor will conduct radiation safety surveys and performance monitoring tests according to nationally recognized standards of practice. • The contractor will provide documentation of all services performed, including results of tests and inspections, and identification of methods and instrumentation used. • The contractor will schedule visits with the Radiology Supervisor for medical x-rays and Dental Director for dental x-ray tubes at least two weeks in advance of the proposed site visit. • The contractor will physically check in with the Radiology Supervisor for medical x-rays and Dental Director for dental x-ray tubes upon arrival at and before departing from the facility.
