Description

The City of Lincoln is seeking bids from qualified nursery stock providers to purchase a wide variety of plant material. The contract will be for one year with an option to renew for three additional one-year terms. Vendors may submit bids for all or some of the plant material categories and service types, including supply only, installation only, and supply and installation. The City reserves the right to award contracts to multiple vendors based on service type, plant category, pricing, availability, and demonstrated qualifications. Some key points to consider: • The contract will require the vendor to provide a catalog listing of woody plant materials available for the 2026 planting season and associated retail price list. • Vendors must provide a current standard availability list of nursery stock that reflects the species and cultivars commonly grown and supplied by their nursery. • The City prefers vendors who demonstrate the ability to supply regionally appropriate, climate-resilient, and diverse plant selections that support long-term urban forest health and biodiversity goals. • Tree stock shall be available in caliper sizes ranging from 0.75 inches to a maximum of 2.5 inches DBH (Diameter at Breast Height), unless otherwise approved by the City of Lincoln.

Budget estimate

$150,000 – $350,000

The estimated annual requirements of nursery stock are substantial, with quantities ranging from 30 to 700. Assuming an average cost per unit of $50 to $100, the total annual contract value could be in the range of $150,000 to $350,000. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual contract value may be higher or lower, depending on the specific plant materials and services required. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of vendors awarded contracts, the pricing strategy of the vendors, and the City's budget for plant material purchases.
