Description

The City of Columbus’ Municipal Court Clerk is seeking a qualified fire‑protection contractor to provide a single‑year contract for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of an FM‑200 gas fire‑suppression system and associated dry‑pipe sprinkler systems protecting three computer‑equipment rooms. The contractor must perform two bi‑annual FM‑200 inspections and four quarterly dry‑pipe sprinkler inspections, supply written reports after each service call, and be able to quote hourly rates for any repair work that may be authorized. • FM‑200 system: bi‑annual inspection (2 × year) covering batteries, release circuits, manual stations, agent containers, and system diagnostics per NFPA guidelines. • Dry‑pipe sprinkler system: quarterly inspections (4 × year) including priming level checks, low‑air‑pressure device testing, flow alarm verification, and an annual comprehensive visual/partial inspection. • Vendor must hold all required licenses/certifications, possess appropriate tools and agent‑weigh kits, and be prepared to submit hourly repair rates for normal, after‑hours, weekend, and holiday work. • Contract period: January 1 2027 – December 31 2027 (no automatic renewal). • No automatic award date or pre‑bid meeting is indicated; submissions close 11/4/2026 at 9:00 AM ET.

Budget estimate

$6,000 – $12,000

Based on typical market rates for specialized fire‑protection inspections in a single commercial location, a bi‑annual FM‑200 inspection often ranges from $1,200‑$2,000 each, and a quarterly dry‑pipe sprinkler inspection ranges from $800‑$1,200 each. Assuming mid‑range pricing, the total annual inspection spend would be roughly $6,000‑$10,000. Adding the potential for hourly repair work (which is not required unless defects are found) could push the upper bound toward $12,000. Therefore, a reasonable estimate for the contract value is $6,000 to $12,000 for the one‑year performance period.
