HAYLAND LEASES

The City of Mitchell is seeking bids for the lease of hayland ground for annual cash rent. The lease will be for a term of three years, from May 1, 2026, to the end of the haying season in 2028. The leased premises include Park Land, Landfill, and Wastewater Lagoons, totaling approximately 98.2 acres. Bidders must propose a total annual rent per year for the leased premises. The Lessee will be required to maintain premises liability insurance and comply with all laws and ordinances applicable to the leased premises. Key responsibilities of the Lessee include: • Maintaining the leased premises in a clean condition and appearance and in good repair • Keeping the land free of weeds and not permitting any structures to be erected on the leased premises • Removing hay from the site after the yearly haying season • Complying with all reasonable directions of the Lessor or its Department Director and/or Supervisor • Allowing no waste or damage to occur to the leased premises and preventing the growth and spread of weeds on the land leased.
