Sanitary Sewer Chemical Root Control Services

The City of Stillwater is seeking bids for sanitary sewer chemical root control services. The purpose of the project is to apply a chemical root control agent to sanitary sewers to kill root growth and inhibit re-growth for two years without damaging vegetation or disrupting the wastewater treatment plant process. The contractor will be responsible for applying the chemical agent, which must be approved by the City, and for ensuring that the treatment has no adverse effects on the wastewater treatment plant or receiving waters. The contractor must also provide pollution liability insurance and comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. • The contractor must be licensed as a pesticide application business with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. • The contractor must have at least two Certified Pesticide Applicators with a minimum of three years of experience in applying chemical sewer root control agents. • The contractor must provide a guarantee for the work, including re-treating any sewer sections that have live roots six months after the initial application or that plug up, cause blockages, or overflow within two years after the initial application. • The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including those related to transportation of materials, application of sewer root control herbicides, and traffic safety.
